The Brief

Psychic Lemon describe their sound as a blend of psych, space rock, and a mix of other genres. The band consists of just three members—but what they lack in numbers, they more than make up for with an immersive wall of sound. Their second album, Frequency Rhythm Distortion Delay, was released on 12 January 2018 on Tonzonen Records. They approached me to design the artwork for it, explaining that they wanted something that bridged 'slick and modern' with 'psychedelic and funky', reflecting the eclectic feel of the album.

My Role

I was asked to design the album artwork, working closely with the band to capture exactly the right mood for this release. I created a circular sound wave, generated from their own music, and combined it with vivid, psychedelic colours. The result is a striking jacket that hints at the sonic explosion within. It was a fantastic project to be part of, and a mind-blowing, motivational album to listen to while I worked!
