Lead UI/UX Designer
Created by Huumun for Takeda, Dengue.com is a global awareness initiative designed to inform audiences ranging from the general public and healthcare professionals to policymakers and institutional leaders about dengue risk, prevalence and prevention.
To establish trust and authority, the platform was modelled on leading international news outlets, combining Takeda’s data with insights from respected organisations such as the WHO and CDC. The ambition was to create a credible, accessible and globally relevant information hub capable of driving meaningful action.
The challenge was to translate complex epidemiological data into a clear, engaging and intuitive digital experience — while elevating the urgency of the issue for a diverse international audience.
As Lead Designer, I was responsible for the project across its full lifecycle: from early strategy and UX definition through to branding, design system creation, team leadership and client collaboration. I worked closely with design, development, project management teams, and director-level stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and carefully executed launch.
Beyond the website, we supported the initiative with a coordinated social strategy aligned to global awareness events such as World Dengue Day and World Mosquito Day. Within the first year, engagement grew from the low hundreds to tens of thousands — significantly amplifying the initiative’s reach.
The platform launched in 2023, with design, development and supporting marketing activity continuing into 2025. While the site has evolved since my tenure at Huumun, the work presented here reflects the original strategic and design foundations delivered at launch. I’m proud to have played a key role in a project with such meaningful global impact.
